We call at an agreed time every day, to check that the recipient is safe and well and that there are no problems, issues or concerns within the home.

Each call lasts for approximately three minutes. Whilst we do not guarantee that that same person will make the home care call on every occasion, this does happen in most instances, allowing a level of relationship and trust to build.

• We arrange to contact the recipient at a set time on a daily basis
• If the call is unanswered, we will call again in 1 hour.
• If the second call is unanswered, we will call again in 1 hour.
• If this third call in unanswered, we will contact a nominated individual (either within the Local Authority, the Care Provider, a nominated family member or neighbour) to alert them that we have had no response. This should instigate a visit to the home immediately.

The service was initially set up with safety in mind however our service is flexible and we have recently been asked to provide calling services for alternative reasons including:
Safety checks :
our standard daily check to ensure that all is well.

Appointment reminders:
to remind the recipient that they have an appointment (perhaps doctor/dentist etc), or that they should be expecting a visitor shortly.

Medication reminders:
to remind the recipient that they should be taking prescribed medication at this time.

Club days:
to remind the recipient that they have an outing or meeting on this day.
